Question 1

Can I try Fincharta before I pay?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can open a full sample report with no signup. Take a look at a healthy business (Hartley & Co, scoring 87), or one that's had its best sales month yet but is running short of cash (Halden Coffee Co., scoring 58). The free Quick Look plan also lets you run two reports a month, for good, with no card.

Question 2

How much does Fincharta cost?

Accepted Answer

Quick Look is free forever: two reports a month, no credit card. The paid plans are Monthly Check at £19 a month, Business Pulse at £39 and Full Control at £59, each building on the one below it. No contract, and you can cancel whenever you like.

Question 3

How is this different from Xero or QuickBooks?

Accepted Answer

Xero and QuickBooks track your invoices and handle your VAT. That is bookkeeping. Fincharta sits on top of it and reads your bank statement to tell you, in plain English, what is actually happening to your cash. Most owners keep both. Xero keeps the records; Fincharta is the view you check each month.

Question 4

I already have an accountant, so why do I need this?

Accepted Answer

Your accountant looks at last quarter. Fincharta shows you last month. It does not replace them. It covers the monthly check your accountant has not got time to do, and come year end they get cleaner numbers to work from, which usually brings their bill down too.

Question 5

Can I trust you with my bank data?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for three reasons. First, we never connect to your bank; you upload a PDF you have downloaded yourself. Second, your data is encrypted and stored in the UK. Third, we are a UK-incorporated company and fully GDPR compliant.

Question 6

What if my bank isn't supported?

Accepted Answer

Any UK bank's CSV export works, and we read PDF statements from most major UK banks automatically. If we can't read your PDF, we'll ask your permission before sending it to our AI provider to read it, or you can upload a CSV from your bank instead. If your bank's files don't work, email hello@fincharta.com and we'll look into it.

Question 7

How does the free tier work?

Accepted Answer

Quick Look is free forever, with no credit card. You get two reports a month, which is plenty to see exactly what Fincharta does for you. Most people upgrade once they want more frequent updates, though plenty stay on the free plan for good. There is no pressure either way.

Question 8

Do I need to integrate anything?

Accepted Answer

No. Just download a bank statement PDF (every UK bank lets you do this in online banking) and upload it. We handle the rest. No API keys, no permissions, no waiting.

Question 9

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Accepted Answer

Cancelling a paid plan doesn't delete anything: you move to the free Quick Look plan and keep your reports, so you can come back to them. To remove everything, delete your account in Settings: your reports, statements and account are deleted straight away and any paid plan is cancelled. Download any reports you want to keep first, as PDF or CSV. It is your data; we only ever borrow it.
